Busy Summer
I've been traveling a lot
this summer and simply did not have the time to work on the site.
My traveling is now done and I will begin to work on the reference
section again. There are also new pictures posted under my personal
section of the web site. My goal is to post updated news on this
main page every Sunday. Stay tuned for some good free code.
For those of you that
have read my bio, you realize that I am in the military.
Needless to say the events of September 11th made the mountain
building even slower. However, I continue to slowly add pages to
the appendices and will also soon be adding two new sections.
The first will be an open source C library for cgi-bin pages. I
have spent several months at work having to develop dynamic web based
content and really couldn't find a reliable and platform independent
set of libs that would work, so I just wrote my own. The second
will be a simple quizzing program to help students learn the Hiragana,
Katakana, and Kanji alphabets of the Japanese language. It's a
simple program done quick and dirty, but helps provide a flashcard
like method for studying in your spare time.
As I continue to build on
the site I am starting to gain a better appreciation for everything I
have learned along the way. As you can see by surfing through
the pages, I have halted adding material to the first several chapters
so I can produce Appendices A and B which I think are vital references
for what is being covered. Appendix A is basically Ralf Brown's
Interrupt List, except I am updating it to remove all the references
to outdated hardware and also adding sample code that shows the
interrupts in action. Appendix B is the IA-32 instruction
reference which will also be modified to include sample code and
better explanations where needed. Thanks for your patience as I
slowly build this in my off time. Please email me with your
comments.
